Here's a few sources for test equipment manuals and some on-line catalogs. We have used Ed Matsuda, and Manuals Plus a lot for printed copies, Artek Media and Dave Miller for electronic copies. Say hi for us when you contact these nice people!
HAMEG, the european scope and instrument maker has a manual download site HERE. Some English manuals may not have full schematics, use the larger German version for that if you encounter the problem. Also software downloads and other useful stuff, a very handy page.

Visit Artek Media for a wide range of digitized (PDF) Tek and HP manuals, very good quality, and a big selection, highly recommended. Often a very practical alternative to heavy and expensive printed manuals, and some can be emailed if you can receive large files. They will also provide access to government public domain test equipment manuals at no charge. Say hi from us when you visit! Always excellent quality and service, we have used them often.
Visit Dave Miller's site, WWW.AA4DF.COM, he has a very generous free download area which currently INCLUDES the highly requested Tek semiconductor cross-reference, and a giant library of excellent quality high resolution PDF Tektronix and other Test Equipment maker's service manuals, plus radio equipment (Collins, Yaesu, Icom, etc.) and broadcast gear. He often has these manuals on ebay, or you can just buy them directly, including the ability to download by FTP and avoid the mail wait if you can receive large files. Some printed manuals are also available. His free section is outstanding, and a very generous contribution to everybody trying to maintain older gear. Say hi for us when you visit!

Advantest has a free manual site for many instruments IN ENGLISH, have a look HERE This is a real treasure for many who have their spectrum analyzers and other instruments, but no documentation.
Anritsu/Wiltron older system manual archive, a very handy place to find wickedly hard to find manuals, and they are free. CLICK HERE!

Mauritron, A source for CD based scanned manual collections. Not used by us, but highly recommended, many unusual test, consumer and entertainment equipment manuals available HERE Give it a try, there are some wonderful items here.
Racal Instruments, Racal/Dana and Dana Can't seem to find these manuals? No surprise, they keep changing their name! We tracked them down, however, and you can order direct from the factory for any of these units at the following numbers. Be prepared for some sticker shock, the manual I ordered was US$100 ! Yikes.

Looking for Radio Equipment Manuals? HERE's a great source called MODS DK loaded with everything from Icom to Azden manuals for downloading. Also has modifications for popular Ham gear, pictures, and more. Very useful for anybody working on RF gear.

KO4BB - Didier Juges, A familiar helpful source to Tek list members, he has a wide range of Radio, Test Gear and General Info manuals on his web site. Some very useful items! He has just updated the entire site HERE which is easier to navigate, and beautifully laid out. An amazing source of free manuals and general reference information.
The Valve Page The Valve Page, A fascinating UK site loaded with hard to find British test gear manuals for Telequipment, Marconi, Farnell, Cossor, Avo and others, plus lots of useful tube (valve) reference info and TV servicing data. Worth a visit.

Access declassified military technical manuals for common test equipment. Takes a bit of navigation, but you can download many common Tek, HP, Fluke and other test equipment manuals in Adobe Acrobat format. NOW REQUIRES 128 bit encryption capable browsers, IE5.50 and later 4.7X Netscape. CLICK HERE to start. Do not be deterred by some messages, this is now public information, you will be totally unable to reach anything sensitive. Caution, sometimes down for service, or heavily loaded, and slow to respond. The link has been updated, and it known to be good currently. Enter the model number (141T, 8555A, etc.) into the title field for best results. No wildcards.
Manufacturer's Sites: Looking for FREE downloadable HP/Agilent manuals in PDF form? Try HERE at Agilent, lots of very useful PDF manuals, all free of charge. Can't guarantee this location will stay static, so let me know if it changes! Many cookies and scripts, some browsers may have trouble. The BAMA SITE is also very useful for HP manuals, especially older ones. There is also a temporary FTP site with many recently scanned HP manuals for older gear located HERE at ftp.agilent.com/pub/manuals. Also has many HP Journal Issues in a subdirectory. There is a similar site at Tektronix, LOCATED HERE. Not as much information, but sometimes you may get lucky! Once again, the BAMA SITE has a lot of good Tektronix info, including old catalogs and manuals, really worth a visit. There is also a similar site at FLUKE for Software and Manual Downloads, not easy to use, but sometimes productive. Free downloadable HP, Tek and Reference Manuals Try the MONOMAN site, for Manuals, An amazing free resource, with a very wide range of files (25GB),please observe the daily download limit to keep your access privilages intact. The HP and Tek indexes have full service manuals, with schematics.
 Looking for free downloadable test equipment and other electronic service manuals in PDF form? Try the nicely liad out and categorized site at EBAMAN www.ebaman.com/.  Looking for inexpensive, downloadable service manuals in PDF form? Try ESI (EServiceInfo.com), an amazing variety of free manuals, schematics, parts info, code dumps and more. Very useful if you get stumped elsewhere, and all best of all, free.
 Here's something VERY useful, downloadable Tektronix Catalogs from the early 50's to 1981. A real treasure trove of useful data, just CLICK HERE. It even includes some Telequipment manuals! Be careful, many of these PDFs are 1/4 Gb.
Looking for inexpensive, downloadable Tektronix manuals in PDF form? Try Kevin Kibbe's site, PDF-Manuals.com, lots of great Tektronix manuals available. You have a choice of CD, download, or printed manuals, very handy.
Download a copy of the BOAT ANCHORS FAQ, which includes lots of contact info for old manuals (especially amateur radio gear), and good advice on how to restore older equipment. Good source for consumer equipment manuals that can be tough to locate.

Where to get Unobtainable HP Cables:
If you have gone insane trying to find the weird D-sub coax cables that interconnect 141T spectrum analyzers, 844x series tracking generators, 8501 and 8750 storage normalizers, well, ta da! You can now get brand new ones from George at GLK Instruments.
