NIXIE, Dekatron, Panaplex & Numitron TUBE DATA
Nixe Tube Datago right to the catalog!
Skip the INTRO, Go RIGHT to the TUBE DATA!

* These are the various Nixie Tubes we have operating data for from Burroughs, National (Wang), Raytheon, NEC, Amperex, Philips, and Numitrons from RCA.

We have some new (NOS) and some pulls available.
CLICK HERE TO SEE WHAT'S IN STOCK!
All our Nixies have good or excellent element visibility, and none have blackened fronts. We are very picky about what we buy and sell, you can be sure these are worth having.

Lots of new NIXIE data just added for your reference. Please note that over-current makes the tubes blacken, and seriously shortens tube life, limit average current to 2.5-3mA for most tubes.

* NAVIGATION: To make your life easier, and help you find exactly what you want, we have broken the on-line equipment catalogs into smaller sections. Just CLICK on the item you are looking for at the left, to see the matching catalog. Large graphical catalogs are a bit SLOW, so please give them a bit of time to load. The top header of each catalog is largely the same, so don't think you are stuck in one place!

You can order anything here just by picking up the phone, and calling (250) 769-1834 during normal office hours, 8:30AM to 4:30PM PST, or FAX to (250) 769-4106. OR, Email your order to Susan CLICKHERE.

Shipping*SHIPPING: Preferred and Alternate Methods as of June 4, 2013, CLICK for FULL DETAILS ON OUR FAQ Page. Rates are now changing rapidy, often with little notice to us, so all the data has been transferred to the FAQ page for speedy updating.

* E-Mail Susan if you want a quote for shipping to other destinations, or for something heavy. Sorry, we can't safely send most individual small parts in a regular letter envelope, they get destroyed by the automated handling equipment. Sometimes we can ship very rugged parts in a small padded envelope by letter post. Ask Susan.

*There is a packing charge for large or heavy equipment, see the FAQ for details.

*If we have your valid data on file, you can just click on the ORDER email link to place an order and indicate your approval to bill, and we will do the rest. We keep your active information for ONE YEAR for your convenience.

*If this is the first time you have dealt with us, you can phone +1 (250) 769-1834 or FAX +1 (250) 769-4106 to supply the billing info, or send it by the email link, as you prefer. We accept VISA/MC, international money order, Paypal (to Susan@Okanagan.net), and bank wire transfer. Please note that there are transaction fees with Paypal and wire transfer payments, the wire transfer fee is frankly horrifying.

We accept VISA/MC or international money order

* The TUBE DATA will appear below shortly!
Don't forget these illustrated sections take a few seconds to load, but they are worth the wait!

Z560M GERMAN TUBES
These red-filtered tubes are a physically larger envelope than the very common Burroughs 5092/8421, but are pin and function compatible.

Standard size digit horizontal view tubes, they have a glass filler at the bottom (requires a standard 13 pin circular socket with a center hole, a standard US 13 pin circular socket can be drilled out to fit). These are classic tubes from Germany, like new condition pulls, all 100% tested. These test very well, great looking digits, and very bright, with an integral red contrast filter (can be removed by soaking in hot water). The lit images are at +170VDC and a 22K series resistor, its rated typical current is 2mA. The pins are tinned, appear to be solderable for the very brave.
The digit height is 5/8 inch, width is 1 1/8 inch.

Building Your Own Dekatron Spinner (115VAC/60Hz)
CLICK for bigger PIC!
CLICK for Bigger PIC!

The incoming AC line voltage (115VAC) is rectifed and multiplied by the cascade multiplier. Under load, this produces +450VDC with about 100V of AC ripple, which is used to power the tube. Ripple can be reduced by increasing the capacitor size from 0.22uF, but the risk of shock goes up proportionally. This circuit stores very little energy, but can still be quite dangerous.
CAUTION! The 0.22uF capacitors REMAIN CHARGED even with AC power removed, and must be carefully discharged if you will be working on the circuit! All capacitors should be rated at 250VDC or better, plastic film or similar types.
The spinner takes the incoming 60Hz line frequency, and feeds it into the Dekatron counting input, so that it whirls around 6 times a second (divides by 10). Very visually entertaining, BUT be CAREFUL, 450VDC is present, and is potentially fatal if touched. The Varistor is shown to prevent line transients from damaging the circuit, you may want to add a power switch, etc.
Ground NO PART of this circuit, and be sure everything is well insulated from any possible human contact. A pic of the Prototype is to the left.

Positive logic, ABCD high inputs (low to high order) drive the outputs LOW to the equivalent value, 0-9. For example ABCD=1000=Display1, ABCD=1010=Display5, etc. The maximum tube supply voltage should not exceed +200V, +170VDC is optimal for most tubes. There is no provision for zero blanking.
We sometimes have them in STOCK (new, unused) CLICK HERE to order, we will supply them if we can.
