THIS IS THE MOST REQUESTED Data Center from Sama and Etani. Sama and Etani had to stop production of these rules many years ago because teachers complained students used them to cheat on exams, and so a fantastic reference tool was lost forever. The Hope 740 is another custom rule made by Concise and marketed under another label, in this case Hope, who offered both circular and straight rules from Japan. The 740 is a metric converter built on the Concise data center ‘chassis’. The front is a compact 3 inch pocket circular slide rule, attached to a rectangular data center card (with side inch/cm rulers on the back). The rear side has a C/F temperature scale, inch and centimeter rulers and a nice table of constants. A very handy rule for quick conversions of temperature, length, volume, weight and area, PLUS an extra C/D scale set for general calculations. This is an unusual 6-scale (A, B, C, D – second B, C scales on reverse of slide) wooden rule from 1917, marked for reading out mils and yards – most likely this is either a survey rule, or was used for artillery calculations. The “FA” is very likely is an abbreviation for “Field Artillery.”
As rules go, given its age and production year, this rule is an actual piece of history.

Ivorite, Log Log Duplex Decitrig (also known later as the ‘Jet-Log’, or in this pocket size, the ‘Jet-Log Jr.’) rule, with metal framed unbreakable cursor. White “Ivorite” construction, with engraved black and red scales that include directional tilt for inverse scales. A real powerhouse duplex rule from K+E in a convenient pocket format.
This rule works the same as the earlier and justly famous full sized 4081-3 and 4181-3 rules, but in pocket size. A very nice find, and an outstanding pocket rule, certainly the most desirable and requested K+E pocket model.

A visually beautiful rule, complete with 2 part plastic case and factory box. The 544A features the trademark S/M blue slide and body braces, multi-line (5 line) cursor, plus two color (red/black) scale markings, and folded scales. The rule is self documenting on the right hand side for all scales. Staedtler-Mars rules are highly requested but quite uncommon in North America, and are very well made designs. Attractive blue slide and body braces, complement the bright blue and white two part plastic case. The folded scales are especially useful for mark-up/discount calculations, and a center index is well marked for this. The ‘invisible brace’ style with braces on the back gives the rule a very clean European look from the front.
Blank on the reverse side. These were still sealed in a factory bulk pack, so everything is in mint condition. We have included reprints of the S/M consolidated rule instructions because these came factory packed with no instructions.

Long before Samsung was trying to sneak a stylus into their smartphones, Faber Castell was already concealing them in their slide rules. This is a very rare surviving example of one of those rules, that features a small stylus that is concealed in the upper left corner of the rule, and can be slid out to operate the addiator integrated into the back of the rule. Rule features an imperial ruler on the upper edge, and a metric ruler on the lower edge.

10″ Logarex/Koh-I-Noor Darmstadt Slide Rule VERY LATE MODEL, made in Czechoslovakia. Powerful, brand new full sized rule with front and back cm/inch edge rulers, smooth black scales, 3 log log scales on the slide reverse, pythagorean and trig scales, and 4 line cursor, and dual reverse side body cursors. Unusually marked, this rule contains ONLY scale equivalents, no arbitrary letters. Has a soft black padded leatherette case with top flap, and the name of the UK distributor for Logarex (Hellerman) embossed on one side. A very powerful and well-designed rule, but uncommon in North America. Like Pickett rules, this is lithographically made, not engraved, and has a shiny top coating for protection of the printed scales. A very nice desk rule to use for many purposes, thanks to the dual rulers. The 4 page Hellerman basic instructions are included.

This is an advance 24 scale rule, that features feet on both sides of the rule for easy desktop use, and a cursor with 6 markers. As with most Aristo rules, it comes with black and red scales, as well as yellow bands on the slide for easier reading.

This is a single sided circular slide rule operated by using the two knobs on the top of the rule’s all metal casing. Some details on using these style of calculators can be found here.
