ISRM, with the support of members of the Oughtred Society in several countries, provides free loans of matching sets of slide rules to educators who wish to introduce their students to the principles of logarithms and to demonstarte how mathematical operations were performed for over 350 years, prior to the introduction of the electronic calculator. ISRM also administers the International Slide Rule Championships and provides free medals, for those teachers who wish to challenge their stuidens by holding a fun math competition using slide rules.
