Excellent condition, a nearly mint copy. Difficult for us to find at any price, we have been out of stock almost a year. It begins with a history of tones from Pythagoras, and advances to the logarithmic association of music by William Oughtred from 1702. Slide rules for music are discussed, culminating with the custom music slide rules made by noted composer Arnold Schoenberg. The book is in English, including 19 full-color illustrations, 24 black/white illustrations, and 15 tables. An amazing wealth of information about music and tone relationships, very well organized and presented. Another excellent publication from the Oughtred Society, very limited copies.
